Stay at Home Mom Fall Wardrobe essentials Fall 2017

It’s that time of year, one of my favorite seasons, FALL! Not too hot ,not too cold, but juuuuust right. One of the Goldilocks seasons! In my book Fall beats Spring because we are entering a season of rest.

Nothing’s better than curling up on the sofa with a book, a blanket and a mug of warm SPIKED apple cider! Unfortunately, I don’t have many opportunities to sit or read. But notice I didn’t exclude sipping that cider, I make time for that. 😉

As a stay-at-home-mom, rarely am I home. There are errands, parties, classes, sports and play-dates around the city each and every week. If we are home we usually walk the neighborhood or to a nearby park.

All that to say, I have to get dressed every single day, and I am tired of wearing what I call my “mommy uniform”. Black t-shirt and black leggings. Don’t get me wrong I love some leggings but something has to give. Also, I’d like to put half as much effort into my wardrobe as I do my children’s. It’s surprising but I am more than a mom!

So, I’ve put together a list to help build the perfect wardrobe to complement life as a stay-at-home-mom. Read More »

I “Had it All” & Didn’t Even Know it! It Could Happen to Your Too.

What if you already have it all. Ask yourself these questions

Do you have it ALL? Are you living your dream life. You just might be. Questions to ask yourself

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.”
― Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

Whose life are you living?  What would you want for yourself, if you didn’t know what others want or have? Could you be living your dream life, already? Do you have it all?

These are questions I’ve been asking myself a lot lately.

I’m 32. I’ve “technically” been an adult for some time now. As an adult I’ve heard it said many times, that we as women can indeed “have it all”. Typically that means the husband, kids, and career. While it’s meant to empower, that statement has always torn me down.

I clearly remember  watching Good Morning America when they featured the book Lean In. What a confusing day for me.

A “Vain Mommy” Is Not — At All –What You Think! Choosing my Blog Name.

How I chose my blog name!

Wow I had no idea that's what Vain Mommy meant! Why I named my blog Vain Mommy

What comes to mind when you hear “Vain Mommy”?

My husband truly, could not wrap his head around the idea of naming a mommy blog Vain Mommy. Understandably, he didn’t get it and I have an inkling that you may not get it either.

I can’t blame you, most mommy bloggers don’t choose a brand with an outright in your face, negative connotation.

When I started Vain Mommy I was pregnant and had my sights set on being the perfect stay at home mom (SAHM). Naturally, I’d start a blog. I needed a name that fully represented who I was, even if my husband “Mr. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)” thought it was a horrible keyword.

To me Vain Mommy fit the bill perfectly…

So, let me tell you why I shamelessly refer to myself as a Vain Mommy.  Read More »

I’m a mom. A stay at home mom. A mom that will be homeschooling very soon. Needless to say, I spend a ton of time with my little people. The best little people in the world, if I say so myself!

Date Night Idea

BUT I’m also a WOMAN, and a WIFE!

At least once a month Hubby and I schedule a date night. I am able to embrace being a WOMAN… actually taking the time to slip into something other than my mommy uniform (black everything, leggings, mystery stained t-shirts and — maternity undies. TMI?).

When these opportunities to be, Raivon and Greg the married couple present themselves, we don’t take them for granted. We create memories.  Read More »
