I haven’t been here in a long while! Its been a busy 3 weeks!
I am proud and a little embarrassed to announce that we have moved–again for the 5th time since 2012!
But of course this time will be different . . . hopefully!
We moved into a house, with a YARD! Boy, I tell you . . . I did not understand the value of a yard until I became the mom of an active toddler boy!
The freedom to be able to simply open our back door and say GOOOO is amazing. There are no steps to worry about, I can simply release my hound (aka Ari)
Greg and I are DIYers totally by accident. In our first apartment here in Atlanta we painted, put down new flooring, painted the cabinets, added a screen door, added a pantry alternative and tons of extra storage AND we were only renting.
It is fun and important to personalize the home you are in, regardless of if you own or lease. It is your home, and from my experience landlords are pretty lenient when you are improving their property.
Our new home is a darling cozy little cottage that sits at the top of a hill. We have signed a 3 year lease and I have a feeling deep down– a little whisper that says this may end up being our forever home. I don’t know how but I’ve been more aware of the “feelings” I have. A woman’s intuition???
I love that our new home is not “cook-cutter” and finished. There’s plenty of room for me to add my own personal touch. Little modifications that will make it ours that wouldn’t be possible if we chose a fancier larger home (Which is the big mistake we made when we bought a house in 2012).
I have so many ideas and a Pinterst board dedicated to them all! I can’t wait to settle in and share the finished product with you all!
Do you rent? Have you tried to make it you own? How?!

October 1, 2014 at 7:34 pmI’m right with you. I’m on my sixth move, but I haven’t actually taken the time to make it my own. They’ve all been apartments for the most part so I always felt limited to what I could do. I maybe more likely to make it my own if I rented a condo or house. What’s your Pinterest board? Share! Share! I’m sure everyone would love to see it.
